Decorate Downtown for the Holidays -
11/1/2007 2:21:17 PM
The Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin invites individuals, organizations, businesses and families to sign up to decorate a window for downtown Elgin’s annual Window Wonderland event.
Decorating takes place between November 5 and November 30. The windows will be judged by a panel of judges on December 1 on creativity and appeal. The public can cast their vote for their favorite windows at various locations around downtown Elgin December 1 through December 31. Winners will be notified in early January.
This year’s window theme is “Holidays from the Past, Present and Future.” In addition to decorations, the window may also include live activities like music, skits, or dancing.
If you would like to participate, please contact the Downtown Neighborhood Association by November 1 at 847-488-1456 or download a participation form at www.downtownelgin.org.
Window Wonderland is one of many activities happening in and around downtown Elgin on December 1. Other activities include live reindeer, free pictures with Santa, ice sculptures, snowmen building contests, trolley rides, plus Touching on Traditions at Lord’s Park Pavillion, the tree lighting ceremony at Festival Park, free City Skate, and the Northeast Neighborhood Association’s annual Homes for the Holidays Tour.
