Arts and Entertainment

Elgin has a wide range of arts groups including music, theater, and visual arts for all ages.  The award-winning Elgin Symphony Orchestra draws subscribers from around the Chicago metropolitan area. Each year, patrons of the Hemmens Cultural Center enjoy performances by stars such as B.B. King, Bob Newhart and Garrison Keillor.

During the summer, visitors to Downtown Elgin enjoy outdoor concerts and movies.

Downtown Elgin also is the center of local arts groups including the Janus Theatre, the Elgin Theatre Company, the Elgin OPERA and the Elgin Choral Union that perform at a wide variety of venues.
