Holly Days bring an entire lineup of festivities to Downtown Elgin kicking off on November 27th to celebrate Small Business Saturday. Check out everything we’ve got planned for you to celebrate the season locally!
Enjoy 15 Holiday Window Murals
Take a walk around town to discover 15 beautifully decorated windows painted with festive holiday scenes. This project features the work of local artists in partnership with Side Street Studio Arts. Murals feature a fanciful winter goddess, a larger than life snowy owl, stylish reindeer and many more images to brighten your holiday! Click here for a map of window locations. More artist details and an interactive match game will be available soon.
The window murals will be up throughout the end of the year giving you plenty of time to enjoy them at leisure. Grab a hot beverage and spend some time exploring! Buy your Downtown Elgin Holiday Cards
Again this year, DNA is proud to offer custom holiday cards created by local artist Kerri Liu of The Gin. Each card depicts a historic building, element or scene iconic to Downtown Elgin. Kerri’s art wonderfully captures the uniqueness of our downtown and showcases her pride for the place we live. Boxed sets of 6 cards are available for $15 online (available for pick-up at the DNA office located at 31 S. Grove Avenue, or can be shipped for $2 extra). Cards will also be available for purchase at Meraki Market Hub and State Street Market Shops. A portion of the proceeds from holiday card sales will help support small businesses in Downtown Elgin.

Start your collection of Elgin Discovery Cards with this limited edition card created by local artist Kerri Liu of The Gin. This commemorative piece is the first of many more “Discovery Cards” Kerri will be creating to highlight Downtown Elgin. Future works will highlight architecturally significant buildings, unique people of Elgin, favorite local businesses, and many more features you can only find in Elgin.
This 2021 Holiday Discovery Card is in the shape of a traditional playing card and is double-sided with a beautiful holiday message on the opposite side. DNA is proud to partner with Kerri as she kicks off this exciting new project featuring original art showcasing her love for Elgin. The Holiday Cheers Beverage Crawl
The first ever Holiday Cheers beverage crawl was a huge success with 400 cups sold! Thank you for supporting Downtown Elgin for this Small Business Saturday event. It was wonderfulu to see so many people out and about supporting local businesses and celebrating the holiday season. A total of 23 businesses participated offering a variety of holiday beverages including Hot Cocoa with festive toppings, Warm Apple Cider, Mint Mocha, Ponche Navideño, Warm Tea and more. Some locations offered beverage add-ins such as a shot of alcohol or other unique treats for a small additional cost.
Aside from the beverage crawl the day featured roaming carolers singly holiday tunes, Santa & Ms. Claus, free roasted chestnuts and the City of Elgin tree lighting! A great time was had by all!
