I was a photographer long before my hands gripped a camera. People, architecture, street, landscapes, textures, patterns, shadow and light have always inspired me but it wouldn’t be till later in my life that I would begin to engage with the beauty and art of photography. I have found that it’s not only an extension of myself where all can see my creative expression but also a great way to get out for some adventure, meet people and learn all about the subjects before my lens. Connecting my craft to the community is important to me in the way that I can support it. I also specialize in Portrait photography, specifically individuals, couples, families, promo, professional headshots and weddings @ SaltLightCity Photography. Visual Art photography is also another creative outlet that I enjoy along with videography. The beautiful lady in the picture is my wife Zuni, who is an amazing 5th grade U-46 ESL teacher! Fun fact, I’m the owner & operator of Doppler Pitch Piano Tuning.

My love affair with Photography goes back decades and now I like to think of my camera as an extension of myself. My eyes see the world through a camera’s lens, constantly noticing light, shape and patterns. Often I “see” in black and white. Although a lifelong resident, I truly didn’t start exploring my city until about 6 years ago and discovered how very incredible Elgin is. And I wanted to share my vision of it with our amazing community. I am a Portrait Photographer, also, specializing in Family, Children and High School Seniors. I’m also a die hard Cubs fan! I’ve been blessed to have traveled a little, stepping on 3 continents (can’t wait to start up again), but coming home is always the best feeling of all.

RUBEN RAMOS PHOTOGRAPHY

Ruben Ramos is Chicago native now located in Downtown Elgin. He picked up his first camera at the age of 12 and now has over 20 years of professional experience. He has an outgoing personality and is very vivacious. His clients choose him because of these qualities, in addition to his photographic talents. Best known for his event photography he has been published and won awards including Chicago Professional Photographer’s event picture and album of the year. He also has be featured in Rangefinder Magazine. He can mix in with the crowd or be the fly on the wall with a shooting style mixture of traditional, contemporary and photojournalism.
